Project Manager - Structured Cabling
Seeking a Technical Project Manager to serve as the point of contact on assigned projects. They will perform a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams. Successful Project Managers facilitate and troubleshoot the myriad of problems associated with developing complex systems or with coordinating and development, and design projects, and provides highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.
General Responsibilities
  • Manage approximately 25-30 installation/decommission projects including large distributed site premise wired, wireless, wide-area-network technologies, voice and network devices, servers and security in corporate offices and/or data centers
  • Work in conjunction with partner workstreams (Network Engineering; Security; Real Estate; etc.) as well as direct LOBs to clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Schedule kickoff calls with all partner workstreams; lead meetings; provide meeting documentation; complete monthly and quarterly reporting; determine resource assignments; provide high level estimates for approval; manage the project from inception to closeout activities and billing
  • Virtually lead field technicians on low voltage projects and or equipment buildouts
  • Maintain all Client project deliverables such as project plans; project runbooks; meeting minutes (and other Client deliverables)
  • Responds to inquiries about projects
  • Responsible for Structured Cabling & Security initiatives as they move from Analog to Digital cameras and readers across the country
  • Coordinate with individuals at client site with what needs to be done
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of PM experience required with the following:
    • Experience working under change management processes and controls in production environments
    • Prior field based installation or project management experience working with large corporate clients and or Financial services industry
    • Structured cabling
    • Managing the project budget and meeting bid schedules and deadlines, working within a very strict timeframe
    • Experience selecting vendors
    • Technical experience with electronic security, IT and/or low voltage systems
    • Experience working as a PM with client’s building facilities, cabling contractors and Security vendors
    • Managing large build-outs, renovations, and upgrades
  • PMI or PMP is preferred
  • Knowledge of MS Product Suite, Visio and Project management tools
  • Knowledge of infrastructure cabling and products
  • Strong understanding of information security best practices.
  • Experience developing proposals for customer based on SOW
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Highly responsive to customer requests and communications, during day and when production changes are being implemented
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with keen attention to detail
