Job Description

  • Provide premier technical support and resolution for user problems
  • Support corporate applications, corporate servers, VPN based network, client machines
  • Perform administration on varying technology including, but not limited to, MS Exchange, Active Directory, MS SQL, Ubuntu, Firewalls, and AV
  • Virtual Infrastructure management and support (VMWare, SAN, Networking)
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information
  • Perform necessary troubleshooting of desktop, laptop, and peripheral devices
  • Identify opportunities for system and process improvement
  • Handle all aspects of systems administration such as monitoring, troubleshooting, e-mail, backup, archiving, disaster recovery, and patching
  • Assist in the selection, procurement and deployment of new equipment
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and escalation activities with outside vendors and support providers as appropriate
  • Assist in maintaining required departmental documentation and inventories
  • Identify opportunities to develop or improve documentation or training materials
  • Monitor systems daily and respond immediately to any security, availability or usability concerns
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience) with 5+ years of IT experience
  • Proven experience with VMWare, Active Directory, Exchange, MSSQL
  • Advanced networking knowledge - LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, Routing
  • Systems Security knowledge - AV, Firewall, Group Policy, WSUS, Patching
  • Scripting knowledge
  • Ability to effectively work across multiple operating systems (Windows/Linux)
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving attitude
  • Willingness to travel when required
