Systems Engineering Manager – Direct Hire Opportunity – Charlotte, NC

 

The Systems Engineering Manager is responsible for a global team of System Engineers who maintain COMPANY’s email and Directory Services. He/she plans and prioritizes staff workload in the administration, operations, and engineering of enterprise services. Develop and revise processes and procedures for coordinated and efficient infrastructure environment, with zero downtime to the business. He/She oversees and participates in initiatives/projects. The Team Manager is responsible for execution of tasks/projects on time while meeting quality requirements. 

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for managing a global team of System Engineers located in Charlotte, NC, Selestat, France, and Shanghai, China
  • Responsible for creating and reviewing goals based on IT strategic plans
  • Responsible for recruiting, building/developing and leading teams comprised of a diverse group skilled resources in a global environment
  • Supervises the design and implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure system capacity meets existing and future requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system resource administration and appropriate use
  • Responsible for aligning projects and operational expenses in line with predefined global budgets
  • Responsible for creating business cases as part of the capital request process and for closing out projects at completion
  • Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting directory and messaging systems
  • Establish and update KPI’s that align with business strategy and service level agreement
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to maintain open communication and share information
  • On-call availability for 14 – 21 days per year
  • Manage global team of System Engineers, set and review goals, ensure goal alignment with company objectives, conduct performance reviews

 

 

Operational Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervises and executes the design, documentation, maintenance, and deployment of global back office systems such as, Exchange/O365, Communication Services, and Active Directory
  • Ensures proactive monitoring of Exchange and Active Directory Server
  • Manage RDS Farms in Asia, Europe, and the US
  • Maintain security, review daily operational tasks, monitor system performance, and report on issues
  • Work with other department managers around the world in in troubleshooting problems to ensure systems availability and reliability
  • Provide oversight to technical consultation in new systems implementation, new feature or function evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems
  • Manage and participate in global project work
  • Maintain Mobile Device Management infrastructure
  • Define standards for Exchange, Active Directory, MDM, RDS
  • Approve and administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 4 year degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
  • MCSA/MCSE certification a plus
  • In depth experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange (2013/16), and Office 365
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management solutions
  • Previous management experience a plus
  • Recent hands on experience in System Engineering
